2017 Clinician Lineup Announced - Registration Open

Camp Director, Lisa Owens, is happy to announce that registration is now open for the 7rh annual MAXIMUM VELOCITY TRACK AND FIELD ACADEMY. The 2017 lineup of clinicians is one of our best to date.

Sharrieffa Barksdale
Duncan Atwood
 We are happy to have Sharrieffa Barksdale back as the Liaison to the Olympians. Sharrieffa competed in the 1984 Olympics, and has been a team manager for team USA for the last 3 Olympic Games.

Other returning clinicians include Duncan Atwood who will be working with our javelin throwers. Duncan is a 2-time Olympian, 3-time US champion, and 2-time gold medalist at the Pan Am Games. Click Here to see a 296' 3" throw from Duncan.


Mark Hollis
Mark Hollis will be working with our pole vaulters. Mark was a finalist at the 2016 US Olympic Trials. He is a 3-time US champion, and the bronze medal winner at the 2015 Pan Am Games. Click Here to see Mark jump 19' 1".
Rose Monday

Rose Monday will be working with our middle distance, distance, and cross country runners. Rose has been the women's distance coach on the last two US Olympic Teams. She has competed in 4 Olympic Trials, and is the 2001Masters World Champion in the 800m.
David Pless

David Pless will be working with our shot and discus throwers. David was a finalist at last year's Olympic Trials. David has PR's of 66' 10" in the shot, and 180' 8" in the discus. Click Here to see a big throw from David.
Terrence Trammell


Terrence Trammell will be working with our 100m and 110m hurdlers. He is a 3-time Olympian, and 2-time silver medalist at the Olympic Games.  Click Here to see his silver medal performance at the 2004 Olympic Games.

Kevin Young
Kevin Young will be working with our 300m and 400m hurdlers. Kevin won gold in the 400m hurdles at the 1992 Olympic Games, breaking the World Record with a time of 46.78 seconds. He still is the only person to break the 47 second barrier in the 400m hurdles. Click Here to watch the race.


We have three new clinicians this year.

Kenny Harrison
Kenny Harrison will be working with our long and triple jumpers. He was a very accomplished long jumper with a 27' 0" PR, but is most remembered for his triumph in the 1996 Olympics in the triple jump with a jump of 59' 4".  Click Here to see the jump which is still the Olympic Record.

Carmelita Jeter
 Carmelita Jeter will be working with our sprinters. She won a gold, silver, and bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic Games in London, and was the anchor leg for the US team that broke the 4x100m World Record with a time of 40.82 seconds. Click Here to see the race. She also has 3 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals from world championships.

Jesse Williams
Jesse Williams will be working with our high jumpers this year. He is a 2-time Olympian, and 2011 World Champion. Click Here to see his winning performance.  His PR is 7' 9 1/4".

Once again the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association (KTCCA) is offering 15 full scholarships, and 10 half scholarships to Kentucky athletes. Please see our "Scholarships" tab for information if you would like to apply for a scholarship. Deadline to submit your application is April 15 for athletes.

The KTCCCA is also offering 10 full scholarships to Kentucky coaches. Application information for coaches is also on our "Scholarships" tab. Deadline to submit your application is May 1 for coaches.
